The Devil's Own

Fractured Dimensions' Bearded Devils are complete. Pictures have been taken. A post has been assembled.

It seems like they've been on my paint table forever because they've been on my paint table forever.

In any event, they're done, I like how they turned out, time for some images before moving on to new business.

All right, Mr. DeMille, I'm ready for my closeup:

  1. Very very nice! :D

I haven't made any more progress than starting to assembling my Type IV demons from Brett. Will have to work on that on Sunday!

    Allan.

    1. Thank you so much, Simon.

Glad you like the group shots. I was underwhelmed with my initial results so I went back and re-shot them. One final delay in getting there guys well and truly over the finish-line.

  4. Congrats on getting them done. They were worth every minute you spent on them because they are gorgeous. Seriously. Gorgeous. I love the contrast between the lobster red skin and the flame red beards. Really outstanding. And such a great 1st edition AD&D feel!

    1. Much appreciated, sir. Some fluorescent orange paint really did the trick on the beards.

    1. I had a lot to work with. Nobody sculpts evil quite like Paul Muller.

    1. They're not the friendliest looking bunch, are they?

To extend the Blues Brothers reference from above, they may be "putting the band back together" but they're definitely not on a "mission from God".

    1. Thanks, Chris. I share your happiness... they were under the brush a LONG time.

Treated the bottle a bit like painting a gem - put the highlights on the bottom. Hopefully it looks like it's part full & catching the light.

  12. Fantastic- a joy to behold.
    Really unique looking, vibrant colours.
The sculpts look quite KevAdamsy in retrospect.

    1. Thank you, Baron.

The Kev Adams angle hadn't occurred to me. Normally Muller and Adams are pretty different but in this case I think you have a point.

  13. My goodness Finch. These completed minis looks simply FANTASTIC. There was a danger that this colour scheme might have resulted in those old W40K Chaos Demon paint jobs on the GW website i.e. just a plethora of flat red but your paint job looks amazing. It pops. It sizzles. Well done Finch. Seriously well done!

    1. Thank you, Kuan. The further I went, the more colors I threw into the mix. Pink in the faces, blue lips, green vertigris... all added "on the fly". Hopefully the predominance of red/orange kept things anchored.
