The Saga Continues...

Center Stage Miniatures and the Tome of Horrors Kickstarters... I & II

These words alone make my heart sink and my blood pressure soar. That's even before mention of former CSM top banana and paragon of virtue Matt Solarz.

Go to your happy place, Finch. Go to your happy place.

No screed today. Only this:

Pacesetter Games has acquired the assets of CSM. Assuming resolution of outstanding IP issues this will include miniatures from TOH I & II. I learned of this a couple weeks ago and have been in a hobby funk ever since. Seems I really dislike being reminded of this fiasco and, more pointedly,  my own gullibility.

Should I be pleased at the prospect of finally getting some long sought after flumph miniatures (and other stuff)? Absolutely.

Should I continue to stew over being so thoroughly hosed by the aforementioned Mr. Solarz? Absolutely not.

Will I continue to stew over being so thoroughly hosed by the aforementioned Mr. Solarz? Hopefully not.

Bottom line #1: I may yet get my flumphs (and other stuff) if I'm willing to pay for them a second time (albeit at a substantial discount).

Bottom line #2: I should take Mother Goose's advice to heart and resign myself to things as they stand.

Additional observation: I need to get back to painting things.

  1. If its of any consolation my friend, to my immediate right is a still cellophaned box emblazoned with the title "Torn Armour". Inside is apparently a rule pamphlet and some cut-out cardboard figures. It cost me over £200 as the promised minis never materialised and the KS shut down. I haven;t the heart to open the box as a result...

    1. I share your frustration, Simon.

I gather there's a Center Stage connection too as "Torn Armor" was derived from CSM's "Torn World" KS.

  2. I wasn't burned on the CAM Demons & Devils KS (I only bought in for the $75 early bird metal pledge), and never supported the ToH ones (too few miniatures caught my eye) I will definitely cherry-pick minis from those lines, though.

And I, too, need to return to painting (but not until after GaryCon)....

    1. I went even less than you on the D&D KS. There was a Tim Prow sculpted night hag I was especially keen to get my hands on.

      Enjoy GaryCon.

  3. I hadn't heard about this mess until now. Really sorry to hear that you got tied up in it all. I can understand you wanting to make another stab for these minis though -- there are some beautiful sculpts... including the Flumph.

    1. There are some very nice sculpts for certain. It appears that at least they will now be produced.

    1. I was working the In with anger, out with even more anger angle. Your way sounds better.

  6. Yes ... yes ... use that anger ... use it to paint ... there is no happy place ... anger will set you free creatively ... muah ha ha ha ha ha. Sorry, been watching too many Star Wars reruns starring the Emperor.

    1. Palpatine didn't follow the in with anger, out with love credo, I guess.

  7. Glad you might finally get your minis Finch. Fortunately I've never been burned by a KS yet but it must absolutely suck! I hope you get your mojo back soon and return to the painting table :)

    1. The mojo's stirring. A mountain of unpainted lead awaits its return.

    2. Definitely take the mothers advice. Cool looking mini's too, not for my gaming style though, although saying that after playing 7TV I can see a place any mini not matter its origin being able to play a part
